Dr Janice Lam is a Consultant at the Department of Ophthalmology, National University Hospital and Alexandra Hospital. Having received the NUHS Learning Development Award, Dr Lam completed a clinical fellowship in Paediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London and served as an honorary fellow at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, specialising in paediatric cataract surgery and complex squints in children and adults. During her year in London, she also completed a 6-month fellowship at the Retinoblastoma Unit at Royal London Hospital and is currently part of the Ophthalmic Oncology team at NUH. Her current clinical work also includes the management of ROP and myopia in children. Dr Lam is the Undergraduate Medical Deputy Education Director of at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. For her work in undergraduate and post-graduate medical education, Dr Lam has received several awards, including the NUHS Young Clinician Mentor Award (2018), the NUS Junior Doctor Teaching Award (2017 to 2018) and the Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence (2019). She currently also serves as the Co-Lead for Optometry Education at the NUS Centre for Innovation and Precision Eye Health.
