Shatriah Ismail

Professor Dr Shatriah Ismail is the President, College of Ophthalmologists, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia and Council Member, Malaysian Medical Council. She is also the Head, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science, School of Medical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia. She has vast experiences as a senior academician in postgraduate ophthalmology training in Malaysia. She was the immediate past Chairperson, Malaysian Universities Conjoint Committee of Ophthalmology and currently, is the Chief Examiner for the Certificate of Completion Specialist Training (Ophthalmology) in Malaysia. Professor Shatriah has published more than 150 articles in esteemed medical journals, with research collaborations in Malaysia, Singapore, United Kingdom and other countries. Her main interest is strabismus and refractive errors in children. She has led the strabismus finder programmes among school children in Kelantan, Malaysia
