Dr Deepa Taranath is a Senior Pediatric Ophthalmologist at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide and a senior lecturer at Flinders University, with nearly 20 yrs experience in the field. Her initial training in ophthalmology was in Bengaluru, India and then she completed her Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalamology and Strabismus at the Children`s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney in 2003. She obtained FRANZCO in 2007 and settled down in Adelaide, South Australia which she now calls home.She has over 40 publications in peer reviewed journals and is actively involved in teaching medical students, ophthalmology trainees, fellows, orthoptists and optometrists. Her areas of interest are pediatric and adult strabismus, ocular genetics and Prematurity related ocular morbidity.She is looking forward to meeting old colleagues and friends at this meeting and making new friends.
