Dr. Bipasha Mukherjee (MS, DNB, FICO) heads the Orbit, Oculoplasty, Aesthetic & Reconstructive services in Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, since 2009. She obtained bachelor of medicine degree from Calcutta National Medical College & Hospital, Kolkata, and a master`s from Aligarh Muslim University, India. She did her fellowship in Orbit & Oculoplasty from Aravind Eye Hospitals, Madurai, under Dr. Usha Kim, followed by a fellowship from the University of Limoges, France, under Prof. Jean-Paul Adenis, sponsored by the International Council of Ophthalmology. She has undergone further clinical observerships in:Moorfields Eye Hospital, under Mr. Richard Collins.Bristol Royal Infirmary, under Mr. M.J. Potts.University of British Columbia, Vancouver, under Dr. Jack Rootman & Dr. Peter Dolman.Greenbay Eye Clinic, Wisconsin, USA. Under Dr. Mark T. Duffy;Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA. Under Dr. Robert M. Goldberg.She has published more than 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals as well as contributed many book chapters. She is the principal editor of ‘Handbook on Emergencies of the Orbit & Adnexa’, published by Springer, along with Dr. Hunter Yuen. She is on the editorial board of the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology; and a reviewer for numerous journals including Orbit; OPRS; British Medical Journal; British Journal of Ophthalmology; American Journal of Ophthalmology etc.Her areas of interest include diseases of the orbit & adnexa including tumors; lacrimal surgery; cosmetic rehabilitation and reconstruction of anophthalmic socket; management of orbital & adnexal injuries. She is currently based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
