Jay Self BM FRCOphth PhD is an Associate Professor and Consultant Ophthalmologist at the University of Southampton, UK. He is a clinical academic and runs regional and national services in Albinism, Nystagmus, Paediatric Cataract and Genomics. He is a founding member of the UK-based Nystagmus Interest Group; NUKE, the National NIHR Paeds Clinical Study Groups (CSG) chair and a member of the RCOphth Paediatric, Academic subcommittees and Genomics group. His research interests are in Albinism, Nystagmus, Ambyopia and Electrodiagnostics and he is an ambassador or scientific advisor for 5 charities. He is a section editor for the RCOphth journal EYE and a reviewer for the MRC, NIHR, RETINA UK, WELLCOME and 9 peer-reviewed journals. Jay is a regular invited international speaker on paedaitric cataract, nystagmus, ocular genomics and Albinism.
