Prof Hammond is a consultant surgeon in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus based at St Thomas` Hospital in London with a special interest in myopia. He is the Frost Chair of Ophthalmology at King`s College London and is a leading researcher into the genetic epidemiology of common eye diseases including myopia, glaucoma, cataract, dry eye and age-related macular degeneration. His research using omics arrays is based on the TwinsUK cohort, but also the UK Biobank and in collaboration with international consortia including the Consortium on Refractive Error and Myopia (CREAM).
