Dr Alexia Romanelli has been a Pediatric Ophthalmologist and Strabismus specialist for more than 20 years. She has been the head of the Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus department of the National Institute of Ophthalmology in Bolivia for 14 years, involved in training residents in ophthalmology and medical students in her country. She is also Master in Nutritional Genomics and has a university degree of expert in Paediatric Neurophthalmology.
Head of the Bolivian Group of Retinopathy of Prematurity, and actual President of the Bolivian Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Society. She has special scientific interest in clinical and surgical strabismus, amblyopia, nystagmus, ROP and paediatric keratoconus. She has also, published several papers, book chapters and bolivian paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus practice guidelines.
